Great coaches do more than teach young athletes how to play a sport. They build confidence, encourage teamwork, and create memories that last a lifetime. Mazda USA is celebrating these mentors through Coaches Who Move Us, a nationwide initiative developed in partnership with TeamSnap. Blaise Alexander Mazda of State College is proud to share how families can recognize the coaches making a difference in their communities.
Keeping the Joy in Youth Sports
According to Project Play, more than 27.3 million children ages six to 18 participate in organized sports across America. However, growing pressure and competition can sometimes overshadow the enjoyment of playing. A 2026 Aspen Institute survey found that the average child quits organized sports by age 13, highlighting the importance of creating positive experiences for young athletes.
Coaches play an essential role in keeping kids engaged, building their confidence, and encouraging a lifelong love of sports. Through Coaches Who Move Us, Mazda aims to recognize mentors who prioritize their athletes' well-being and personal growth over winning games.
How Coaches Who Move Us Works
Mazda has partnered with Good Morning America to recognize five outstanding youth sports coaches from across the country. Each selected coach will receive a brand-new Mazda CX-90 in recognition of their positive impact on young athletes and their communities. Families can nominate deserving coaches through October 18, 2026.
The initiative also provides support beyond the five winners. Eligible youth sports coaches who purchase a new Mazda vehicle at their local dealership can receive a $250 vehicle incentive. Mazda will also make a matching $250 donation to help cover essential team needs and everyday coaching expenses. Coaches can learn more about the program and register through Mazda's official website.
